Is this plugin dead?

Hi,

Like many others here, I downloaded Blender for its low cost (yes) and because it had support for Collada export (wanted to use it for papervision3d work).

Exporting static models works great.

Animation fails though, and it seems development for this plugin is dead at this point?

I'm a C++/Java developer, just wondering if the source is available so I might take a shot at picking up where it left off and revive it to at least add basic animation support? Not crazy about Python but..

Anyway if anyone has info that would be great, starving for some animation support here,

Thanks,
Mark

Not quite mark.
It comes with each version of Blender and it's all in the python scripts folder (and subfolders BPyModules/colladImEx)
I've tinkered with it myself. I suspect its getting updated through the blender builds, for example people patching it through these channels, but correct me if I'm wrong because I'll need to know where to submit my own mods:

[projects.blender.org]
and submit matching email according to:

I've tinkered with the object nesting, triangle translation, and put a wrapper for googleEarth KML, and today I'm tackling library-group references which should go in the library_nodes section of .dae I suspect.

I learned python with the O'Reilly book Learning Python.
Good luck.
I'll see you on one of the blender communities.
