Collada 1.4.1 compatability

Hi,
I'm exited to see this plugin being developed for Blender. The reason? Daz now has a Collada plugin. Which means I'll be able to use all Daz's models in blender, now including bones(armatures)!!! However, I've found there's a fly in the ointment. The Daz plugin is written to the new 1.4.1 Collada standard, which means I've not been able to read 1.4.1 output into the 1.4.0 plugin (Would probably be able to do it the other way round). Do you have any plans to include the 1.4.1 features in your plugin?

Yours

Hi Ian,

Good to hear the plug-in is getting used more and more everyday! grinning smiley...

I'm certainly going to support 1.4.1. Because i'm very busy with the animation support, I was planning to do the conversion after the animation part.

Are there any specific problems you encounter with the current verion when importing 1.4.0 files?

edit: Why did you post this message in two threads?

Hi Pieter,

Sorry to post twice. But the forum isn't updating very fast at my end for some reason. So, originally thought my first post hadn't worked (I couldn't see it anywhere). Hence, the second post. Again, apologies.

Good news Pieter,
I can now see the armature in all it's 3D glory. Whoo Hooo.
I should also explain that I'm a Blender newbie. Not being the greatest modeller in the world I've not had much incentive. But, now there's the possibility of using Daz's models I'll be getting my Blender 2.3 Guide Book out and knuckeling down to some serious learning.

P.S Took a long time to reply because my ISP's server went down.

Good luck with the modeling and animation. I could use some cool Collada examples, so if you have something in the future I can put on myproject website, I'm a happy man winking smiley

Hi,
did you use the v0.3.159 of the plugin? With this version I have problems
when importing a model from daz, as I have written there:
